Spring in a Bottle: Crafting Vinegars at Home
with Harry Rosenblum

In this workshop, Harry Rosenblum, author of Vinegar Revival, will teach you how to ferment and flavor vinegar. Harry will share how to cultivate a mother, brew vinegar at home, and explore recipes that use vinegar to enhance your favorite dishes.
You will sample vinegars flavored with spring botanicals and use them to make an aioli and a shrub to bring back to your home kitchens. Cookbooks will be available for purchase.
All experience levels are welcome! $35 per person.

Seasonal Kitchen Cooking Classes: Rhubarb Reimagined
with Yellow Farmhouse Educators

Celebrate the versatile brilliance of rhubarb. Menus include sweet and savory recipes for sumptuous stews, sizzling sauces, refreshing cocktails, and more. Each class features tastings and preparations to take home and continue your rhubarb culinary journey.

Beyond the Pie, June 11th, 4-6:30pm
Menu: Vanilla-poached Rhubarb Pound Cake, Sweet Tangy Rhubarb Fool, and Rhubarb Soda
Sauce it Up, June 18th, 4-6:30pm
Menu: Rhubarb BBQ sauce, Rhubarb Salsa Verde, and Tart & Sweet Rhubarb shrub.

Growing Through The Seasons: Gardening Workshops

Yellow Farmhouse and Stone Acres farmers will help you create a blueprint for your beds, plan for produce throughout the growing season, manage weeds and pests sustainably, cultivate a bounty of tomatoes, build soil health, and put your garden to rest in the fall.
All experience levels are welcome!

Flour Power: Young Bakers' Flatbread Workshop

Breadfest's Flatbread Workshop for Young Bakers
In these hands-on workshops, kids will make yogurt dough, griddle it golden brown and dress it with local honey and farm fresh herbs. A fun, grainforward activity with tasty results to share!
Workshops will begin every hour on the hour between 11am and 3pm. Please only select ONE session per child.

Aged to Perfection: Making Cheese on New England's Culinary Coast
with Mystic Cheese Company

Saturday, June 21st from 4PM - 6PM
Deepen your appreciation and knowledge of cheeses while enjoying a guided tasting curated by award-winning cheesemaker Brian Civitello of Mystic Cheese Company. Learn about Civitello’s artisanal cheese house right here in Groton, CT, and Westerly, RI, and taste a selection of cheeses, including The Gray, the first-prize winner of the 2024 American Cheese Society award for best international-style cheese.
Cheeses will be served with hors d’ouvres made with locally grown produce and craft kombuchas by Mystic’s own 860Kombucha.

Young Cooks & Farmers - Week 1: Pizza Party
with Yellow Farmhouse Educators

Ages: 6 - 11
July 1st - 3rd, 9:30am - 12:30pm, $50 per day
Our Young Cooks & Farmers program brings children ages 6-11 to Yellow Farmhouse Education Center to experience sustainable farming and seasonal cooking. Children work with farmers and culinary educators to investigate and explore a regenerative farm, grow and harvest produce, and prepare farm fresh recipes.
Week One: Pizza Week. Harvest early summer produce and prepare creative and farm fresh pizza sauces and toppings. Learn to knead and roll out a variety of pizza doughs, including ones that are gluten free. Each day will be a new set of recipes.

Storytime On The Farm
with Yellow Farmhouse Educators

Ages: 3 - 7
Children and their caregivers join Yellow Farmhouse educators under the apple tree for a story, a nature activity, and a farm fresh snack.
Age: 3 - 7 years old. $15 per class.
Storytime will be held on Wednesdays, from 10AM - 11AM.
Proceeds benefit the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center, whose goal is to connect people to where their food comes from and make a local, sustainable food system accessible to all.

Young Cooks & Farmers - Week 2: Food Pockets
with Yellow Farmhouse Educators

Ages: 6 - 11
July 8th-10th, 9:30AM - 12:30PM, $50 per day
Our Young Cooks & Farmers program brings children ages 6-11 to Yellow Farmhouse Education Center to experience sustainable farming and seasonal cooking. Children work with farmers and culinary educators to investigate and explore a regenerative farm, grow and harvest produce, and prepare farm fresh recipes.
Week 2: Food Pockets. Every culture has a food pocket. Join us for a world tour with stops in the United States, Italy, Latin America, and China. Come learn about and participate in sustainable farming and learn to make ravioli, hand pies, dumplings, and empanadas. Each day includes a lunch prepared by the children. Each day will be a new set of recipes.
